CYCLE'S END - Part 2 - "The End is the Beginning is the End"

Image
"The End is the Beginning is the End" is an 11-page story that ends the 2007 anthology CYCLE'S END. I wrote it as a bookend to the opening story, "Of Myth & Legend," which can be found in the previous post below. The easter egg of this story is that revisits the cyclic theme of the book and chronologically it can take place before the first story. (Although, it should still be read after "Of Myth & Legend.") The reason I point this out is because it's presented to you a different format here on the web as blog posts, which I think makes it a little harder to pick up on. Just another one of the differences between web comics and printed comics. It was written by myself with art & letters by Ori Ayalon. What I enjoyed about writing this one is that I got to flex a completely different set of muscles, as it's a sci-fi / character piece. Enjoy! CYCLE'S END - Part1 - "Of Myth and Legend"

Image
"Of Myth & Legend" is a 12-page barbarian story that kicks off the critically well-reviewed anthology CYCLE'S END. It was written by myself and illustrated by Jeffrey D. Zacholl, with letters by Jeff Heller. I'm very proud of this story, particularly because of the pacing and storytelling techniques we used. Page 5 stands out for me, personally. (I also enjoyed the opportunity to write archaic dialogue again, similar to my "Moment of Truth" story for Tokyopop's THREADS OF TIME series.) I'm actually going to post a storytelling tutorial later on using this story as an example. But in the meantime...enjoy! "BREAKING IN" - Created to benefit The Hero Initiative

Image
"Breaking In" is an 8 page story written by myself, Greg Tumbarello, and illustrated by the ridiculously talented Chris Moreno (World War Hulk: Frontline, Toy Story, Sidekick w/Paul Jenkins). Colors by Ori Ayalon and letters by Ed Flag. This story was created to benefit The Hero Initiative . (It's an important charity that assists comic book creators who have fallen on hard times. Please check it out to find out how you can help this worthwhile cause.) Now, our story is part of an anthology entitled HOPE: THE HERO INITIATIVE that is being put together by Ronin Studios. I'm told that it will be published by the Hero Initiative and available in comic shops on Feb. 21, 2011. Luckily, since this blog is mainly being used to show off my work to various editors and isn't on the general public's radar at the moment, I can preview it here. Enjoy!
